SEP produces adapted furniture, therapy equipment, and materials for children with disabilities to make their life more comfortable. We use different media (metal, wood, rexine,).  Have a closer look at our products in the shop

One of the used techniques is Appropriate Paper Technology (APT). It is a technology developed in Zimbabwe. Imagination and knowledge of the basic techniques convert recycled materials such as waste paper, cardboard boxes and corrugated cardboard boxes to produce individually designed furniture, toys and assistive devices for people with disabilities. APT procedures are extremely simple and environment friendly. As APT uses ‘free’ materials, the technology is accessible for all income groups.

Good positioning is a crucial factor when working and living with children with disabilities. It enhances better posture and body alignment and improves participation in daily activities, play and learning. Assistive devices also ease the physical strain on (grand)parents and caregivers and  help them to take care of the child comfortably and safely without physical overload. This makes it easier to sustain long-term care. All our assistive devices are customized to fit the needs of each individual child and environment.

SEP has hired a full-time Occupational Therapist who is specialized in hand therapy and trained in making splints, to manage the day-to-day running of the workshop. SEP has acquired land and is now in the planning process of constructing its own workshop.
