Every year, SEP trains a group of intern members. They are young professionals from different disciplines, including therapists and special needs teachers. Upon joining SEP they benefit from a 2 week intensive transdisciplinary training aimed at improving knowledge, skills and abilities. The training is very interactive, hands-on, and focuses on child and family directed therapy intervention.
After the training intern members join SEP projects for 6 up to 12 months to have practical experience and learn best practices. They are working together with special needs teachers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists to ensure that they fully understand the transdisciplinary approach. After 6 months practical training in the projects the intern gets a certificate.
On average 25 young professionals are trained every year by SEP. Internship takes 2 years before graduating to full membership.
