Professional Development

Equipping the next generation of professionals

Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement inclusive strategies and accommodations that foster academic and social growth for students with diverse abilities.
Inclusive Education

Equal access to a quality education

SEP believes that all children should have equal access to quality education by training teachers in regular schools for the inclusion of learners with disabilities so that the teachers can be well equipped to support them.
Capacity Building

Building the people around us

SEP provides training and technical assistance for families, caregivers, community health promotors and teachers in community based groups, children's homes, and centres in Nairobi's low-income neighbourhoods and in rural areas.
Advocacy
Small Efforts Make Big Change
SEP is actively involved in educating about the rights of people with disabilities through publishing and widely distributing brochures on specific conditions informing a broad audience. SEP collaborates with partners for awareness campaigns and advocacy in favour of children with diverse abilities.

Training

Professionals acquire specialized skills through high-quality transdisciplinary training, thereby promoting a transdisciplinary approach (occupational therapy, physiotherapy)

Inclusive Education

Children with diverse abilities are integrated in regular school settings whenever possible. Every child in Kenya who has a disability, no matter its nature/condition — has the right to go to school.

Empowering inclusion

Empowering Every Child's Unique Journey.

At SEP Kenya, we specialize in providing a supportive environment where children with diverse abilities thrive, offering resources, expertise, and compassion to empower every child's unique journey.

Children with Disabilities (CWD) in low income communities do not have access to healthcare and education opportunities. In accordance with the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act of 2003, Special Education Professionals (SEP) bridges the gap by enhancing the ability of families in marginalised communities and community based organisations, to deliver evidence based interventions targeting CWD.

SEP offers interventions that are family centred grounded in the mutually beneficial partnerships among professionals, children and their families.
Unlike other organisations and hospitals where parents are not involved, SEP shifted from the standard model of healthcare provision to a collaborative model which recognises family involvement as central to the child’s development

With your support, children with diverse abilities are able to live a more joyous and fulfilling life
