Disability awareness helps in subsiding the stereotypical mindset of the society and providing vast opportunities for everyone to get involved in creating a positive, inclusive society.
SEP has organized and attended a huge variety of awareness events with information stands, presentations, and use of local media. On these occasions SEP distributes brochures which explain in English and Kiswahili different conditions.
The Sibling and Peer Workshops have led young children and adolescents to gain empathy and have positive attitudes. This particular attitude then further grows on an individual, making them better citizens as they mature.
Recently SEP has been raising awareness on Cerebral Palsy on a project that started in 2024.
The theatre production is a collaborative project between Special Education Professionals (SEP) Kenya and Bold Theatre Kenya that blends theatre with social impact, aiming to promote inclusion by raising awareness about individuals living with Cerebral Palsy in Kenyan communities.
