Special Educational Professionals runs peer interactive workshops targeting a number of schools under the inclusive education program. The main objective of the workshop is to interact with students with special educational needs (SEN) to build-up peer-relations with students without SEN and to work towards social inclusion.
The workshops are a success and all participate well. The schools are cooperative and facilitate the required logistics, the facilitators are satisfied that it serves its main objective of building up peer relations among learners with different abilities.
The role of peers in inclusive schools can never be stressed enough. The interactions that takes place among peer groups has a great impact on emotional, social and academic progress.
