Since March of this year, Kenya has experienced severe flooding due to torrential rains, resulting in the deaths of over 200 people, the destruction of homes, and the displacement of thousands of families. The floods have also damaged numerous schools, disrupting education for many children. The disaster has exacerbated poverty levels by destroying assets and limiting economic opportunities, with vulnerable groups such as women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities facing the greatest challenges in accessing support and resources.

To assist those most affected, SEP successfully applied for a relief fund from West-Vlaanderen and Zwevegem. With this support, SEP provided aid to 300 families in Shompole and Entasopia, distributing essential items such as food, soap, and mosquito nets. These efforts aim to alleviate some of the immediate hardships faced by these families and support them during this challenging time.
