Special Educational Professionals ran peer interactive workshops targeting six schools under the inclusive education program. The main objective of the workshop was to interact with students with special educational needs (SEN) to build-up peer-relations with students without SEN and to work towards social inclusion.
The workshops were a success and all participated well. The schools were cooperative and facilitated the required logistics, the facilitators were satisfied that it served its main objective of building up peer relations among learners with different abilities.
The role of peers in inclusive schools can never be stressed enough. The interaction that takes place among peer groups has a great impact on emotional, social and academic progress.
